On September 11, 2001, while America watched in horror as the World Trade Center collapsed, airports across the U.S. were dealing with thousands of unexpected flights that were forced to land immediately. On that dreadful day, 22 passenger aircraft and seven cargo planes landed at ICT with roughly 1,300 passengers who unexpectedly spent three days in Wichita.
In remembrance of this tragedy, the Wichita Airport Authority issued a special publication for the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attack. We’d like to share that publication with you again as we will never forget.
